    About this paper

    Hexagon graph paper

Hex paper tiles the page with regular hexagons. Every cell touches six neighbors at the same distance, which is why it is the favorite grid for tabletop game maps. It is also used for organic chemistry rings and English paper piecing quilts.

The spacing sets the length of each hexagon side.

    Frequently asked questions

What size hexes are best for game maps?

Around 1/2 inch to 1 inch across is common for miniatures. A 7–14 mm side length works well for hand-drawn maps.

How do I make sure the grid prints at the right size?

In the print dialog choose “Actual size”, “100%” or “No scaling”, and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”. To confirm, print our free calibration test sheet and measure the 10 cm line with a ruler.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no download limit. You can use the paper for classes, worksheets, products and client work.
